I keep my credit reports locked down. It would have been helpful if I would have known that I needed to keep my credit reports open until the loan is closed rather than having to reopen them at the beginning and end of the process. In addition a range of prices for appraisals should be quoted.
When accepting a lock on rate and a credit is given, a range of that credit should be given. I accepted a rate assuming a definite credit would be given, obviously a miscommunication.
