Sophia, you were very responsive to all other parties in this transaction and did a great job enstilling confidence of all involved. I credit you with giving my wife and I the extra edge we needed to close this deal and we are grateful for that. From the perspective of a first time homebuyer, there were some communication pitfalls I feel like we ran into hovever that harmed the formation of trust on our side. 1) Claiming your org would give us a great rate only to provide us with ones 0.5% higher than what most banks advertised and 1% higher than best offer we eventually found (both for this and a past offer). 2) Not making it clear ahead of time that we would need to sign with total mortgage's initial rate within a day of the offer being accepted, which made it so we needed to rush for competing rates to match and still agree to sign with only a verbal promise of matching under threat of loosing the deal last minute. 3) Choosing the bank that was rate matched to for appraisal, which could be percieved as strategicly blocking them as an option to be a backup lender (feeding into prior fears). 4) Not clarifying the need to verify the status of all assets ahead of closing before statements were due, even though it was clear we held online assetts that risked not being able to provide that verification. (Stacked with all the other factors, made it seem like a there may be a play to loose the rate lock due to a delay). 5) Assurances to these fears only being answered with promises of strong personal reputation and that this isn't a bait and switch. We didn't even know there was an industry term for that before you mentioned it...and honestly this kind of defense felt just like what scammers tend to say and made us feel more uneasy than at ease about everything. Luckily all these trust issues and fears ended up being unfounded, and I'm glad I didn't listen to my gut reactions. It was Cyndi's endorsement that kept me firm on working with you, because I know she doesn't mince words yet had nothing but praise to say about you. Sorry if this is all a bit raw, but I also believe in not mincing words and providing thoughtful + honest feedback to people I work with. You made this deal happen in spite of hesitation, frustration, and mild freak-outs from Liery and I. We appriecate the late nights and hard work you put in to make this all happen, and we're grateful you were there for us in the end.
